The browser-based AI image renamer
Renameit (renameit.io) is a browser-based AI image renamer. It reads what's in each photo with vision AI and generates SEO-friendly filenames, alt text, and captions in 28 languages. Images are processed in memory and deleted immediately — never stored or used for AI training. No install required.
Why Renameit exists
Every camera, phone, and screenshot tool hands out filenames that mean nothing — IMG_3847.jpg, DSC_0042.jpg, PXL_20260301_182217.jpg. Those names make folders unsearchable, slow down client deliveries, and quietly hurt image SEO on every page they're uploaded to.
Renameit launched in January 2026 to fix that in one pass. Instead of making you type names by hand or build brittle rename rules, it uses vision AI to look at what's actually in each photo and writes a clean, descriptive filename — plus matching alt text and captions when you need them. You review, edit anything you want, and download the renamed batch.
It's an independent, self-funded product, built for photographers, ecommerce sellers, real estate agents, content creators, and anyone else staring down a folder of files named by a camera.
